Janice's Quilts

I started quilting in early 2000 and I love the way it brings together creativity and practicality. I have sewn for many years and dabbled in other arts and crafts but nothing else has 'taken hold' as much as quilting. I am still learning the craft but I have big plans!!

tiffanycentre As yet, this quilt, an illustration for a children's verse, is only stuck down with vliesofix. I intend to machine embroider it extensively and add a large border of squashed and stretched standard blocks.
This is also an unfinished quilt. I think it will have another border before I layer and quilt it. I started the centre part in a Ruth B McDowell workshop and added the three borders later. The six large delphinium florets in the second border are repeats of one of the florets on the centre delphinium stem. tripleF
delph1 This quilt is the result of a Club Challenge. The Triple F challenge. We were randomly allocated a fat quarter to use and the patterns for a number of large, medium and small size blocks were given out each month for 3 months.
We were then free to put the blocks together as we chose. I put most of the set blocks on point to make a much larger quilt than most of the others entered. It is now my dining table cover
